Oh, Firenze.
Florence, Italy stole my heart the second I stepped out of the train station into the bustling city streets. I took my little girl to our hotel to drop off our things and immediately set out to explore. My original plan was to head for the city centre and just get a feel for the city; however, I found myself walking further and further in awe. Every corner I turned I was amazed and couldn’t stop from roaming deeper into the city. A major bonus: Florence is 100% kid friendly, just like the rest of Italy! Traveling solo can be daunting, especially with a toddler, but Florence was beyond child friendly and easy to navigate. The atmosphere in Florence still felt serene even with the hustle and bustle of the city. If you are visiting Italy, do not skip this Renaissance city!

The Florence Cathedral and Duomo.

Crossing the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge.
Exploring hidden gardens.
And doing two things we did best: getting lost in back streets and eating gelato.

Day 1:
- Arrive in the beautiful city of Firenze!
- Explore area around hotel and get familiar with surroundings
- Mercato Centrale <—Check out the market stand Da Nerbone for some yummy traditional Tuscan food
Day 2:
- Piazza della Repubblica
- Galleria dell’ Academia <— This is where Michelangelo’s David resides
- Uffizi Museum
*** I HIGHLY recommend booking tickets ahead for the museums to avoid long lines, especially with kids! I booked ahead with Get Your Guide and was able to skip several hour long waits! Also, by booking ahead you save money!

Day 3:

- Enjoy last day in Florence. Get lost and eat more gelato!
