Meet the Muggles

Hi, I’m Erica! I am a mom, wife, NICU nurse and an avid adventurer! I was bitten by the travel bug at a young age and explore the world in my spare time. I am all about traveling on a budget, traveling with my husband, traveling with kids, and fully immersing myself in new cultures. Traveling like a local is always our goal. I started this blog to share my love of travel with other families that felt like travel was too much of a hassle with children. Don’t get me wrong-it isn’t easy, but it is worth it.

I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico but grew up in several parts of the world. I have lived in New Mexico, England, a tiny volcanic island called Montserrat, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. Currently, I am living in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I love exploring my beautiful state and surrounding areas in between traveling abroad.

My husband, Kevin, came into my life during a very difficult chapter of my life. He is nothing short of amazing and the best travel partner that I never knew I needed. I am incredibly blessed to be able to create lifelong memories with him by my side.

Meet the Little Muggles

Aria: A spunky, strong-willed kindergartener that has a love for exploring. Aria has been my travel buddy from a young age. She backpacked across Italy with me at only 17 months old! Then at 2 years old, we backpacked across Spain together.

Theo: An energetic, curious 2 year old. He is always ready for his next adventure.

Isla: The baby muggle! Our newest addition to our family. We can’t wait to start taking her on family adventures.

  1. I am in LOVE with your blog!! That post on traveling without your husband?! Yes!! All the yeses!! I have done a few trips without him, but typically with other friends. I am really hoping to do my first completely solo trip sometime this year! Your words are so encouraging and I so enjoy your outlook!
